Attendees can expect a wealth of attractions to choose from, including four live bands, 2K bier run, fish fry, contests, and more. Best of all, 100% of the event’s proceeds go towards the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh.

The event is held at the Dockside Tavern‘s Festival Hall on the Fox River. This venue is perfect for enjoying live music and the sights and sounds of the scenic Fox River. They even have 12 slips available if you come by water instead of land!

Race the Lake 2018 – 88 Miles Around Lake Winnebago!

Race the Lake 2018Race the Lake 2018 is the 11th annual return of the popular bike race around majestic Lake Winnebago. August 26, 2018.

Race the Lake is an annual bike race that, despite it’s 88-mile length, attracts bicyclists of all skill levels, pro to beginner. Past year’s courses have even reached lengths of 100 miles. Much of the attraction can be attributed to the beautiful scenery found along the shores of Lake Winnebago.

The race starts in Fond du Lac and heads north along the west side of Lake Winnebago, running through Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, and Appleton. The halfway point at High Cliff State Park sees the course turn south south down Lake Winnebago’s eastern shore. The course then takes the riders through Calumetville, Marytown, and St. Peter, to finish up at Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park.

Oshkosh Jazz Festival Meets The Arts 2018Enjoy an afternoon and evening of beautiful art, good food, and live jazz at the first annual Oshkosh Jazz Festival Meets The Arts. Saturday, August 18th, 2018, 12pm to 7:45pm in William Steiger Park.

Oshkosh Jazz Festival Meets The Arts is designed around Oshkosh’s vibrant art scene. The festival will include an art exhibition and sale as well as an evening of live jazz. This unique combination of art and jazz was organized by the Cultural Fine Arts and Jazz Society of Oshkosh in conjunction with Jambalaya Arts.

The event will take place in the new extension of William Steiger Park, near the old Boatworks. Vendors will have food and drink for sale with nearby restaurants providing further alternatives.

Plein Air?

“En plein air” is both a French phrase meaning “in the open air” and a painting style. Plein Air painting is done outside in one sitting, against the changing of the light. Plein air was an important part of the Impressionist movement during the mid-1800’s. Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, and Claude Monet were notable practitioners of the style.

Oshkosh Waterfest Concert Series 2018The first concert of Oshkosh Waterfest 2018 is just a month away, if you can believe it. This year’s lineup of 8, Thursday night shows at the Leach Amphitheater in Oshkosh, starts June 21st and continues throughout the summer with both big name and regional bands.

What do George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Loverboy, Michael McDonald, and Boz Scaggs have in common? They’ll all be in town this summer for the 2018 Oshkosh Waterfest Concert Series!

They’ll not be alone, either. 20 different artists/bands are promised for this year’s lineup, and what a collection! Each of this year’s run of shows will be headlined by a national act and include a mix of supporting acts, including both regional and national artists.

2018 Oshkosh Marathon, NPC Fox Cities Showdown, Special Olympics Indoor Sports Tournament, and Run Away To the BaySpring will soon be sproinging all around us! Along with all the leaves and blossoms, come a host of warm-weather sporting events. Oshkosh shakes off the dust in April with a variety of events. The 2018 Oshkosh Marathon, the NPC Fox Cities Showdown, the Special Olympics, and the Run Away To the Bay!

Even if you’ve managed to get out into the great outdoors a lot this winter, there’s nothing like great spring weather to motivate a person. The warmth of the sun draws us outdoors and suddenly Oshkosh parks, golf courses, and trails are peopled again.

The 2018 Oshkosh Marathon takes advantage of the great spring weather every April with a host of related contests. The event includes a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Corporate Marathon Relay, a Half Relay, and a 5k. All races are scheduled for April 29th, 2018 at the Leach Amphitheatre in downtown Oshkosh. Proceeds from the 2018 Oshkosh Marathon benefit local charity groups, like the Oshkosh Boys and Girls Club.

The 2018 EAA Skiplane Fly-In celebrates the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EEA) 26th anniversary. The EAA flying club traditionally focused on homebuilt planes but now includes most aspects of aviation and aeronautics. If the name “EAA” looks familiar to you, that’s because they also host the incredible EAA AirVenture Oshkosh air show at the end of July each year.

The Oshkosh Bird Fest precedes International Migratory Bird Day (May 13th and 14th in 2017) with a full schedule of avian activities. You’ll meet live birds of prey, see a bird banding demonstration, learn how to “birdscape” your yard, and much more!

A number of experts will be on hand to answer your questions on a wide range of bird-related subjects. The real stars of the show, however, will be the birds. Both those visiting the festival with handlers as well as those in the wild. You will definitely want to bring along your binoculars to fully enjoy this event!

The 2017 Oshkosh Marathon And More Make For An Athletic April!The arrival of spring means it is time to dust off those winter doldrums and head out into the sunshine! The Oshkosh Marathon and many other athletic events make April a very active month here in Oshkosh.

While there’s always something to do in Oshkosh, no matter the season, the warmth of spring definitely loosens up those joints and gets the blood flowing. People are tired of being boxed up in their homes and there is an explosion of activity.

So much so that there isn’t enough space to list everything happening in April. Instead, we’ve focused on four of the bigger athletic events of the month. They include the Oshkosh Marathon, the NPC Fox Cities Showdown bodybuilding competition, the Special Olympics Indoor Sports Basketball Tournament, and the Run Away To the Bay relay race.

There’s still plenty to do in Oshkosh, however!

Get ready for the wearing of the green! The 5th annual Oshkosh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Tent Party, held in downtown Oshkosh, is almost here. Saturday, March 18th, 2017, beginning at 1pm.

Oshkosh knows how to throw a party – the kind that welcomes everyone – and St. Patty’s Day is no exception! Oshkosh’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Tent Party is held each year in downtown Oshkosh. 2017 marks the 5th year of this popular event. The parade and party are bound to be bigger and better than ever!

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 2pm. It starts off from Ceape Avenue,  travels North up Main Street, and ends at Irving Avenue. This is one parade you don’t want to miss. Bagpipers, floats, vintage vehicles, horses, bands, and more will all be on tap. After the parade, you’ll want to be sure to head to the St. Patrick’s Day Tent Party!

Hops & Props 2017It’s time for the 13th annual Hops & Props at Oshkosh’s EAA AirVenture Museum! Hops & Props is an annual beer-tasting event with food, live music, and over 85 breweries in attendance! March 4th, 2017.

Craft beer, microbrews, independent ales – whatever you want to call them – have exploded in popularity and quantity in the last decade. Consequently, beer-tastings have had an unprecedented opportunity to become beloved and sought after events.

That’s certainly the case with the annual Hops & Props celebration in Oshkosh, WI. Held at the EAA AirVenture Museum, Hops & Props has only grown in size with each successive year. This year’s event features over 90 different breweries, including some specialty brews from Europe!
