This year’s Oshkosh Festival of Spring at The Paine Art Center and Gardens is just around the corner! This much anticipated, free, outdoor event features hundreds of vendors, food, and live music. More famously, it’s also the site of The Paine’s annual Spring Plant Sale! Saturday, May 20th, 8am to 4pm.
What better way to celebrate spring than at an outdoor fair of gardening goods at The Paine Art Center and Gardens? The Paine’s annual Spring Plant Sale offers both traditional and unusual plant varieties and is well-known for having the region’s best selection of perennials.
The Paine Art Center and Gardens is a historic estate in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The 3-acre grounds include botanical gardens and a Tudor Revival style mansion containing public art galleries. The estate was established in 1927 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Paine Gardens are 20 seasonal, display gardens showcasing perennials, trees, shrubs and wildflowers that are native to the state. The Paine updates their displays of annuals and bulbs every year with new and unusual combinations and varieties. For the Festival of Spring, The Paine plants over 10,000 tulips and other flowers to compliment the festivities.
The festival’s garden theme attracts artisans and craftspeople of a similar mind. Browse their wares for items for the garden, from the garden, or inspired by the garden. A wider variety of unique garden and gardening related items all in one place would be harder to find. Believe me, once you’ve collected your plants at the Spring Plant Sale, you’ll definitely want to peruse the Festival of Spring vendors’ offerings!
Festival of Spring is not restricted to just garden-centered arts and crafts, either. A “Corner Flea Market” is also part of the event. Here, you’ll find antique and vintage items, imported goods, collectibles, rarities, and curiosities!
The festival also includes food and live entertainment to keep you energized and on your feet throughout the day. There’s even an activity area to keep the kiddies distracted and happy. Once you’re done perusing the vendor’s goods, don’t miss the opportunity to wander The Paine’s magnificent gardens!
