We have been getting calls pushing us to get them in, so apparently we are not the only ones soooo ready for summer to begin.  Our specials page, on our website gives all the details about size, capacity, rules, prices and discounts, but just to sum it up and give you some of the highlights, we have two pontoons available for rent. Thanks okay, Captain Scotty will meet you at the marina and go over everything with you for your perfect day on Lake Winnebago or Lake Butte Des Morts. He will then meet you back at the marina  at the end of the day to help gas up the boat for others go out the following day.

In fact, if you rent out the entire inn (up to 15 people) for two days or longer at our regular rates, you will receive a days worth of pontoon rental, absolutely FREE!  Great for family reunions and wedding parties. But don’t worry, you don’t have to stay Brayton Bed and Breakfast in order to enjoy a day on the lake. Just give Captain Scotty a call at 920-410-0374 and he will gladly get you all set up. Celebration of Lights

November 23, 2015 by braytonbb

The Night We Met The Town Quack

The Celebration of Lights is a truly magical sight to see. Beginning tomorrow, November 24th through December 31st. in Menominee Park, on the shores of Lake Winnebago, the park will be transformed into a mile of illuminated holiday wonder from 5:00-9:00 PM daily.  Just 14 years ago when this began, it started out with a few lighted trees, a couple of displays and not  many people knowing how this would grow in just a few short years. This event now attracts over 13,000 vehicles filled with family and friends ooohing and aaaahing over nearly a million twinkling lights.

A 100 foot tree with sculptured scenes  and animated light displays will be scattered throughout the park. Fill the car up and bring your camera to take pictures with the reindeer and Santa. Don’t forget to bring a non perishable food item to get a $1.00 off.

Autumn in Wisconsin

September 29, 2014 by braytonbb

fall 2011There is nothing like Autumn in Wisconsin! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a warm weather kind of girl. I love the hot temps, summer breezes and spending the day on Lake Winnebago on Scotty’s Pontoons. However, digging out those jeans, cozy sweaters, taking in the early morning sunrises, brisk walks in the evening and admiring the beautiful array of colors on the trees is a close seconds to those warm summer days.

We are so fortunate here in Oshkosh to have beautiful tree-lined streets that showcase the wonders of Fall and reflect off of Lake Winnebago. Menominee Park and South Park both showcase the colorful sanctuary that we should be so proud to display to our guests that come to our city.

Want to take a road trip though and experience all the colors of Wisconsin. Check out the Travel Wisconsin website to know how locally we are progressing along with the rest of the state.

We are heating up the apple cider and bringing out our pumpkin recipes for breakfast and desserts.Get all our latest and greatest recipes by following us on our Facebook page or on our blog.

Battle on Bago

February 17, 2014 by braytonbb

Battle on Bago (Winnebago) is here again this Friday February 21 and Saturday February 22nd. It is the largest ice fishing tournament around with over $160,000 in cash and prizes to be given away.

For those that don’t know, Lake Winnebago is 10×30 miles, 88 miles of shoreline and an average of 15 to 21 feet deep.

How safe is it to be out on the ice with the tent, thousands of people, cars and music? Great question? This year is one of the best with the brutal cold temps we have had. Clear, solid ice around 2″-3″ thick only is sufficient to hold one person walking. This year though the ice is about 30+ in thickness and the has been great fishing conditions. Sturgeon Spearing which is usually a two week season, was called short last week due to the large number of sturgeon speared last week. First time in years.

The tournament begins at 6:00 AM Friday morning, with a fish fry from 5-10 PM and the band, Road Trip playing from 7:30-11:00 PM.

Now as exciting as all this is, for me it just won’t compare to last year when we had a few of the Packer alumni staying with us for the tournament. This picture was from last year, but it was probably one of my most memorable times to date.
