Event City? Yes we are! Oshkosh holds all the great festivals. You know you love Oshkosh Irish Fest and Oktoberfest, well for the first time ever Oshkosh is launching a St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Tent Party on Saturday, March 16.
The family-friendly party will start at 4:00 pm in a giant, heated tent located on the 500 block of North Main Street and will feature two live bands, Irish dancers, Irish food, Guinness beverages, and even Cultural displays on topics such as St. Patrick and Ireland’s history. The parade will kick-off at 6:30 pm in downtown Oshkosh and travel up North Main Street. Because it is a night-time parade, floats and other entries are encouraged to use colorful lights in their decorations.
The parade is a gift to the city in celebration of Irish Fest’s 5th Anniversary, and the tent party will serve as a fundraiser to help expand the popular Spring festival. The Rovers, an Irish-themed band from Annapolis, MD will join Oshkosh’s own Sheamus Fitzpatrick and the McNally Boys to entertain inside the tent. You can also expect performances by Richards School of the Dance and bagpipe groups. Several fundraising activities will take place including raffles, a silent auction, and the opportunity to add your name on the Fest’s Welcome or “Fáilte” Door with a tax-deductible donation. On Sunday, March 17 an authentic Irish Breakfast will be prepared by The Roxy Supper Club with a portion of the proceeds donated to the festival.
