July has got to be the busiest month I bet in Oshkosh. We have got LiFest going on, Rock Fest, US Open Grass Volleyball, plus Waterfest and our farmers market again.
LiFest which starts July 11 and goes through July 15 has been around since 1990. It started originally in Appleton as a run/walk fundraiser. Since then a Christian music festival was added and moved to Oshkosh at Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh. Last year it hit is second largest attendance ever with over 16,500 people. Some music headliners include Newsboys, Skillet and Lincoln Brewster are just to name a few. There will also be a 5K run/walk, Zero Gravity which performs action sports with high energy music, petting zoo, art space, skatepark, basketball, volleyball and dodgeball tournaments, archery and a prayer journey.
Rock USA goes on from July 12-14 at Ford Festival Park in Oshkosh. A few bands you can expect to see there this year are Skid Row, Papa Roach, Shinedown on Thursday, Hinder, Tesla and Montely Crue on Friday night, and Kid Rock on Saturday.
July 11-15 is the World’s Largest Volleyball Tournament with over 200 volleyball courts with teams from around the world competing at every level of play from professional to recreational. Open to the public. Volleyball clinics run by Misty May-Treanor Gold Medalist.
