The Paine Art Museum brings us their newest exhibit starting February 10- May 20th. This dynamic exhibition pairs the work of two distinguished contemporary artists with Wisconsin ties. Bright, luminous landscapes are the trademark of midwestern painter Rodger Bechtold. Bechtold often paints in Door County, finding inspiration in its pristine beauty, pure light, and weathered barns. On the other hand, Milwaukee-based Richard Taylor creates colorful painted metal sculptures, ranging from whimsical freestanding works to complex wall installations inspired by music, poetry, and memories. While the two artists share a natural affinity in their expressive use of color and their midwest roots, the exhibition also explores the intriguing differences between their works.
