Race for the Light

  • December 2, 2011 8:00 am

Race for the Light is the region’s most fun and festive 5K. The Holiday spirit will engulf you as you run the course through Oshkosh’s Celebration of Lights in Menominee Park, featuring festively decorated homes, carolers and musicians, as well as over 500,000 lights and displays.  Last year’s Race for the Light had a record attendance with almost 1,000 runners and walkers. With your participation, we can break that record and raise even more money for families in crisis in our community.

The 9th Annual Race for the Light 5K Benefit Walk/Run will be held the evening of Saturday, December 3rd. Registration begins at 3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh. Race start time is 4:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, which provides shelter and domestic abuse programs in Winnebago and Green Lake counties.

Wow, there is so  much going on in Oshkosh this weekend. I love it. One of my favorite events that takes places the first Saturday of every month is Gallery Walk. From 6-9 p.m on Saturday, December 3,  Oshkosh galleries and businesses open their doors to feature artwork of all varieties and genres.
